Software
Software is a computer program encoded in such a way
that the instruction set can be changed with easily. As computational sciences becomes
increasingly complex, the distinction between software and data become less precise.
Software can be divided into three major categories: system software, application software
and programming software.
System software runs computer hardware and system. Examples: operating systems, device drivers,
servers, tools and utilities.
Application software allows users to accomplish more specific tasks. Examples: office suites,
business software, education, database, games and so on.
Programming software allows programmers to write software using different languages more convenient.
Examples: text editor, compiler, interpreter, linker, debugger and IDE.
